We left this morning for Rome and stopped at an AutoGrill for lunch. An AutoGrill serves the same purpose as an American freeway rest stop, but on steroids! They actually are built over (span) both sides of the freeway and include a restaurant and store. Be careful that you leave out the correct door or you'll be literally on the wrong side of the tracks!
The afternoon was spent with the incomparable city-guide, Francesca, with a walking tour around the city ending at the Pantheon and a stop at a little shop for cheese and olives. Then dinner in the Jewish Quarter (deep fried artichokes and zucchini blossoms - you've got to try them!).

Possibly the busiest day of the tour with stops at the Vatican Museum, St. Peter's, Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. Everything was timed perfectly with no waiting in line!
Our last group dinner featured lots of wine and this wonderful lasagna with both red and white sauce. All of it accompanied with music courtesy of Roberto!

Tour over... Many of us leaving early in the morning so we said our goodbyes last night.
Lots of fond memories and only 2 questions remain to be answered: How soon can I come back and which Rick Steves' tour should I take next time?
